The Augustana University Office of Human Resources (HR) provides a variety of services to its students, faculty, staff and retirees, as well as to applicants for employment. HR assists in hiring, promoting, developing and supporting Augustana employees, while sustaining the university’s mission and core values.

HR works to attract, develop and retain employees who contribute to Augustana’s overall success. As a department, HR manages recruitment and onboarding, compensation and benefits, learning and professional development, performance management, as well as employee relations through separation or retirement.

Augustana University is proud to announce the launch of the Election 2024: Curiosity, Courage & Civility Initiative ahead of the U.S. general election in November. This is a university-wide initiative to encourage members of the Augustana community to cultivate curiosity, exhibit courage and practice civility during a polarizing season in America.

Augustana is proud to announce that the university’s Bachelor of Science in nursing (BSN) graduates within its School of Health Professions achieved a 95.5% National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN®) pass rate in 2023 — the highest of all 4-year BSN programs in South Dakota, and the third highest among all RN programs in the state. In addition, Augustana’s December 2023 Accelerated Nursing Program graduates achieved a 100% pass rate.

The Augustana Student Association (ASA) honored three professors with the ASA Faculty of the Year Award on Monday, April 29. The award is given annually for excellence in teaching and distinguished service to the students of Augustana University. Along with writing thank you notes to professors, ASA asks fellow students to nominate their favorite AU faculty member for the awards.
